OTKYDACMEX – EXHIBITION EXPEDITION

The artists of different nationalities, until recently this did not matter much, at least it seemed so. The artists of different media, for this exhibition they switched their media: musicians began to draw - painters to theorise music and sounds. When we are all betrayed by the authorities, but each of us stands alone in the face of this chilling horror of betrayal. We stop trusting our own inner voice, we stop trusting ourselves, we begin to question whether we are honest about our actions to ourselves? Artists are hedonists in this kaleidoscope of terrifying war propaganda.

Up-cycling is the central theme of the exhibition. The second life of things was the theme of the art-residency, where our group gathered. The simplest idea of conserving resources. Or not. But it’s happened and happened exactly this way. War is everywhere. War is a suffocating black shadow of our present. Our group could not refuse the opportunity to co-author of The black viper.

War is a real anti-miracle. The war has became an opportunity for all of us to experience incredible historical events, but she continues to take hundreds of lives every day, every hour.

Anti-miracle comes when religious, political or other social systems fail. Anti-miracle is a replacement for the miracles we were once promised.

Incredible systems of religions they create conditions for murder and destruction. Incredible Political Systems that create global markets for weapons and death. Incredible families in which splits occur on the basis of justifying the war. We are incredible. We just Happened. Again. we and our works are in denial, in polemics, in protest. But everywhere is the black background of our obsessive co-author. We want to resist not only with words, we resist with deeds. We build/create because these are the antonyms of destruction. We build using up-cycling materials, because this is a search for the possibility of careful use of resources. A dream as bright as a mirage: That there would be fewer disputes in the world due to lack of resources. Creating and creating, we seem to be passing through the history of things at this moment. It's like we're trying to find and fix mistakes, mistakes that allowed the war to happen

This new world is constantly changing, gaining more and more speed every day. At the same time, it may seem to us that nothing has changed in him. Everything is familiar to us, familiar to us. It's as if we see in a dream a roomy house in which everything is the same as it was in childhood. And we fall into a litsrgic sleep. We do many things without ever coming out of this dream.

only the cyclical nature of suffering can bring us out of illusions. Reflecting on all this, we launched the project “sounds of upcycling". This is a project about the insufficiently studied influence of processes, phenomena, things on the life of a human being, which, however, are already noticeable. For example, the second life of sound. We do not know how the sounds produced by the entire industry have affected our lives, our logic, philosophy and health.

We claim that every object produced by a person is a carrier of sound information recorded at the time of its production. Sound, vibrations and noises with a sufficient amount of information about the manufacturer and his tools can already be generated on a computer and reproduced. The object itself, be it a chair or a car, in fact, in our project is an analog sound carrier, similar to a gramophone record. In our experiment, we set ourselves the task not to suppress the noise, but to record it harmoniously. To do this, we physically change the sound of the instruments produced by the subject of our upcycle. But for now, the implementation of such experiments is possible in a society that is not involved (or immersed) in a state of suffering. This is how the idea of an expedition appears. So "sounds of upcycling" becomes one of the goals of the expedition of our art group.

At this, the first exhibition, most of the works presented were created by artists who left the country, whose authorities unleashed a war. From the materials that we artificially prolong life, we have created an exhibition about a completely different kind of upcycling. "POLITICAL", "religious" and "social" Upcycling. Upcycling, which the authorities are engaged in. Upcycling of the old system in a new package.
